We went to Marrakech!
The month of July was madness, I don’t know how to describe it better. Everything I had planned went wrong, but there were some unexpected memoirs that I’m going to remember forever!
In one week we traveled to Venice and Marrakech, it would have been more intelligent if we would have gone directly from Venice to Marrakech, but when we booked the first flight, we didn’t know there will be a second. So, I caught four flights in six days (that’s a lot for someone who doesn’t travel that much!) It seems that destiny didn’t want us going to Marrakech, we only slept 3 hours that night, and we almost missed the flight. I said ALMOST. Less than 5 minutes left to close the gate!
I remember landing on Marrakech, everything were as if it were painted with terracotta color. I looked around, and everything was pretty, everything had a special feeling. We stayed at the Kitula Riad, and it couldn’t have been better! Said was our guide and the kindest person I ever met. Breakfasts were astonishing, they have the best food, and the product was so good. I already fell in love with their peanuts!
We went to visit Le Jardin Secret, we ate in beautiful places like Nomad, and we walked by the streets and alleys. Last day we visited Le Jardin Majorelle, designed by Jacques Majorelle and renovated by Yves Saint Laurent when Jacques Majorelle leave Marrakech to go to Paris because of a car accident.
Marrakech is a city that lives between the tourists and the locals. There’s so many difference among the places that were built for the tourists and how the locals really live. Even the music was different in the restaurants, perhaps to make the tourists feel comfortable. When I’m traveling, I always say that a restaurant is great when you see local people in it, but in Marrakech everyone was a tourist.
Anyway, I fell in love with the city, and I’ll come back soon because everyone had told me I have to see the dessert!
